State of mind

From a weirdo's perspective

Update!

It was a stinking, moronic, thrice-damned firestarting sonofabich.

And as the police are concerned, they don't have anyone to convict.
And as I know the police, they won't get anyone to convict.
And as I also know the details of our insurance, we'll have to pay for quite a bit of the damage.

So, yeah, fuck you, you spineless motherfucker.

This week really does not want to become good.

Somewhen this night our neigbours motorbike burned down.
We had police notices on our cars to call them. We did. We have to get there and sign legal claim-forms for the damages, as they're pressing charges on the owner.

While bad for us, I don't actually want to make the owner's life any more miserable. Poor guy. He loved his bike.

Damn life.

Stargate Atlantis
[info]the_sarge
So, Season 5, eh?

After being drawn to watch the show (through Naye's LJ, admittedly ;) ), it really grew on me. Although only from about 3/4ers of Season 1 onwards. The first few Episodes were... Well... Let's call 'em "birth problems".

But ongoing character development and the actually happening internal development of Antagonists made the show really great.

I'm mid Season-3 now and will reach end of Season 4 approx at around April. So then I'll have to wait four or five months for the next season. Damn. I hate that.

Stargate has a tiny feature, probably non-existent for most viewers, which really makes me like the shows more because of it, simply because it's attendance to detail: The military characters actually get commendations and promotions from time to time. It's small. It doesn't make much difference. But when Dr. Weir actually really had problems to see Shepard go from Maj to LtCol and even referred to him as "Maj Sheppard" one or two times, as she was civilian, while the military members of the team got it right? That was cool.

So yeah, Naye, you infected me.
Damn you!

I owe you. :)

This Years New Years Eve
[info]the_sarge
A bottle of fine Whiskey.
My Dad's HD-screen.
My Sis's 7.1 Surround System.
My Mum's most comfortable blanket.

Dimmed lights, a few candles, my Xbox 360 and many, many Depeche Mode DVDs, hours of playing Mass Effect and perhaps me finally completing Gears of War.

Perhaps I'll blow up something virtual when the year changes.

Good luck - Bad luck

So, my debit card was locked and I got a new one ordered and, thank the gods, nothing happened in the time it wasn't locked.

I had my last dentist appointment for 6 months though. And my lower right jaw and the right part of my tongue is numb now. And probably will be so for the rest of the day. And because of this I can't eat anything solid as I wouldn't realize if I'd bite my tongue. And I lisp. But then, I AM called Igor. So everything has its positives.

Soooo... Hair.
[info]the_sarge
I let it be cut today.

I lost approx. 30cm.

It still feels weird, but it's new. I'll have to get used to it.
Perhaps pictures after tonight.

Sooo...

Four episodes of the new Scrubs season.
And each of them is able to bag in the whole of Season 6 in itself.

I'm loving them.

And I still want my own, personal, Dr. Cox.

Great. Now I'm having hallucinations.

I just heard the Xbox360 "download finished" ping. Then I turned around and remembered/realized that the TV isn't on. And that the Xbox isn't plugged in right now.

That was kinda surreal.

Sooo... I think I became the good-me again. Yesterday, the goatee went.
Now, only the mutton-chops remain (and they're still growing, even though I'll have to visit the barber soon, and let him trim them for a good look - I'm still aiming for Civil War general).

Here's how I look now:

I think the ponytail is the next thing to go. I'll try my luck with a more military look again. Hopefully it won't look all too stupid.

Today I designed my first Battlemech since... Gods, 2002 or something like that. On paper. With a calculator. Including calculating costs and Battle Value. And damn, I still can do it. *g*

Christmas will be a big Battletech buying-binge.

Battle Tech! (This one's for Adam. ;) )
[info]the_sarge
So. Christmas is near, and I think I'll be going back into BT full scale.

I just was at the Catalyst page, and am a tad confused, though.

So now, a few questions:

I own "Mechwarrior, 3rd Edition", from back when it was called that.
Q: Is the "Classic Battletech RPG" greatly different, or just a new name?

I also own the Battletech Master Rules (FASA 1707, from 1998), as well as Battletech 3rd Edition and Citytech 2nd Edition. (Yeah, ok. And also Battletroops and Mechwars. So I was/am a big fan. :p)
Q: What do I have to buy, to be able to play? Master Rules Revised? Total Warfare+Tech Manual? Something else? How different is "current" Battletech from the one I got in my '98 Master Rules?

Regarding fluff-y things.
Q: "Field Manual: Federated Suns" / "Handbook: House Davion". The newer ones are the handbooks, right? Will Liao and Kurita get theirs, too?

And a last question: Will there be further support for Classic Battletech? I'm pretty much a 3025-3050 kind of guy, so anything that helps me to get game-stuff on those two eras would be greatly appreciated.

...

Thanks in advance. :)
